Harris County Woman Kaitlyn Graves Found Dead Inside Apartment

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Authorities in north Harris County are actively investigating the death of 22-year-old Kaitlyn Graves after she was found deceased inside her apartment in a case now officially being treated as a homicide. The heartbreaking discovery has left family members searching for answers as detectives work to determine what led to her death.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. to The Arden Apartment Complex near Hollow Tree Lane after family members requested a welfare check. Relatives reportedly became concerned after they had not heard from Graves for several days and were unable to contact her.

Investigators said family members reached out to apartment management for assistance, and staff later entered the apartment where they discovered Graves deceased inside the residence. Deputies arriving at the scene immediately secured the area and began processing evidence as homicide investigators launched an extensive investigation.

Sgt. Jason Brown with the sheriff’s office homicide division stated that Graves appeared to have suffered severe injuries. By Wednesday, investigators confirmed she died from blunt force trauma and officially classified the case as a homicide. Authorities also revealed there were no obvious signs of forced entry into the apartment, leading detectives to believe the suspect may have known the victim or had access to the residence.

Detectives are now reviewing surveillance footage from the apartment complex and surrounding areas while also interviewing neighbors, family members, and individuals who may have recently been in contact with Graves. Investigators are working to establish a detailed timeline of her last known movements and communications. Officials believe she had likely been deceased for several days before being discovered.

Authorities say no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made at this time. However, investigators indicated they do not believe the incident was random. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS. As the investigation continues, loved ones are mourning the tragic loss of Kaitlyn Graves while hoping for answers and justice in the days ahead.
