Young Mother Killed in Perrysburg Township Crash, Infant Survives with Minor Injuries

OAK HARBOR, Ohio — The Oak Harbor community is mourning the tragic loss of 30-year-old Brooke Tabbert, who died Saturday afternoon following a devastating two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Five Point and Lime City roads in Perrysburg Township. The heartbreaking incident has left family, friends, and neighbors in deep sorrow.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 4:49 p.m. on April 4, 2026. Investigators say Tabbert was traveling eastbound on Five Point Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Her vehicle was then struck by a 2016 Ford SUV driven by 29-year-old Clemente Vallestero of Perrysburg. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash into a nearby utility pole.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported Tabbert to St. Vincent’s Hospital in an effort to save her life. Despite medical efforts, she was tragically pronounced dead. Her infant child, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Authorities reported that Vallestero sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He did not require hospitalization. Officials have not indicated any signs of impairment, and the crash remains under active investigation as they work to determine all contributing factors.

Brooke Tabbert’s sudden passing has deeply impacted the Oak Harbor community. Loved ones remember her as a devoted mother, a kind-hearted person, and someone who brought warmth and care to those around her. Her loss has created a profound void, especially for her young child and family members.

As the community grieves, many are coming together to offer support, prayers, and condolences to Tabbert’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Authorities continue to investigate the crash, while residents reflect on the tragedy and the importance of roadway safety.
