52-year-old Pedestrian, Petrick Brown struck to death in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Augusta community is mourning the tragic loss of 52-year-old Petrick Brown, who died after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning along Peach Orchard Road in Richmond County. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident, which occurred during the early morning hours near a busy commercial area.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 5:06 a.m. on May 13, 2026, to the 3100 block of Peach Orchard Road after reports of an injured person in the roadway. When deputies arrived near 3130 Peach Orchard Road, they located a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Officials later confirmed that the pedestrian, identified as Petrick Brown of Augusta, died from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities said Brown was pronounced deceased at Wellstar MCG Hospital. The heartbreaking news has left family members, friends, and loved ones grieving as they struggle to come to terms with the sudden loss.

Investigators said the crash occurred behind the Chick-fil-A located in the 3100 block of Peach Orchard Road.
