According to the Austin Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 10900 block of Brazoria Lane following multiple calls reporting gunshots in the area. One caller also informed authorities that an unresponsive man had been discovered, prompting a swift emergency response.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 35-year-old man known as “Lil Josh” with clear signs of severe trauma. Due to the extent of his injuries, officers said no life-saving measures were attempted. He was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1:09 a.m., bringing a tragic end to the incident.

Authorities also noted that it remains unclear whether the victim and the shooter knew each other, leaving many unanswered questions about the motive behind the killing.
Homicide detectives are actively investigating the case, working around the clock to gather information. Efforts include interviewing witnesses, canvassing the surrounding neighborhood, and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses to piece together what happened before the shooting.
