HAUGHTON, La. — The Haughton community is mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of 43-year-old Preston Workman, who was killed early Monday morning in a motorcycle crash along Sligo Road. According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, the crash occurred around 1 a.m. near Mayflower Road. Preliminary reports indicate that Workman was traveling eastbound on a 2025 Harley-Davidson when his motorcycle crossed the centerline. Investigators say the bike then struck an uneven section of the shoulder, which caused it to overturn, leading to the fatal crash.
