In Loving Memory of Na’Quail Weaver

A tragic shooting inside The Athlete’s Foot on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge has left a young man dead and a community mourning another heartbreaking act of violence. Authorities confirmed that 28-year-old Na’Quail Weaver died after suffering a critical gunshot wound during the incident, which unfolded in the middle of the afternoon and shocked shoppers and nearby businesses across the area.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the store around 3:07 p.m. on May 14. When police arrived at the scene, they found Weaver seriously injured inside the business. Emergency responders quickly transported him to a local hospital, where doctors worked tirelessly to save his life. Despite medical efforts, Weaver later died from his injuries, according to the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office.
