FRESNO, Calif. — A night meant for celebration turned into heartbreak as the Fresno community mourns the tragic loss of Meharie Kidane, who was fatally shot late Friday night in the downtown area. The sudden act of violence has left residents shaken and searching for answers.
According to the Fresno Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the 700 block of Fulton Street. When they arrived at the scene, they found Kidane lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
