Authorities said the Silverado then collided head-on with a 2016 Ford F-450 Perry County Ambulance that was returning to its station at the time of the crash.

Officials confirmed that John Southwood suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroner’s Office.
