63-Year-Old Motorcyclist, Jack Lineberry Dies After Losing Control on State Route in Ohio

Authorities in Ohio are continuing their investigation into a tragic motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 63-year-old man in Tuscarawas County. The incident, which happened over the weekend, has left the local community saddened and raised concerns about roadway safety for motorcyclists.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were dispatched to the crash scene at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Saturday. The accident occurred along State Route 800 near Froman Hill Road in Fairfield Township, where emergency responders quickly arrived after reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle.

Investigators identified the victim as Jack Lineberry, who was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound at the time. Authorities say Lineberry encountered a vehicle ahead of him that was slowing down to make a turn, creating a sudden traffic situation that required quick action.

In an effort to avoid crashing into the vehicle, Lineberry reportedly attempted to maneuver away but instead veered off the roadway. During the attempt, he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a nearby guardrail. The force of the impact caused critical injuries, leaving him in urgent need of medical care.

Emergency crews at the scene acted swiftly, arranging for Lineberry to be airlifted to Summa Health Akron Campus for advanced treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, officials later confirmed that he died from his injuries early Sunday morning, less than a day after the crash.

Preliminary findings suggest that impairment may have been a contributing factor in the accident. Authorities also noted that Lineberry was not wearing a helmet at the time, which could have worsened his injuries. The crash remains under active investigation as officials continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
