According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 3:44 p.m. at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and 19th Avenue. Investigators say the collision involved a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male who was reportedly fleeing from law enforcement at the time of the incident.
Authorities reported that a 2011 Toyota Prius driven by the teenager was traveling westbound on 19th Avenue when it failed to yield at a stop sign. The vehicle then collided with a 2007 Saturn Ion that was traveling northbound through the intersection. Inside the Saturn were Franklin Ward, who was driving, and Tessa Berry, who was riding as a passenger.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene following the crash. Sadly, Tessa Berry was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe injuries she sustained in the collision.
