Connie Edens & Donald Edens Found Dead in Ravenna Township Home

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a tragic incident that left two people dead inside a home in Ravenna Township on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The discovery has shocked the quiet community as investigators work to determine what led to the fatal situation.

According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 4000 block of Summit Road around 3:18 p.m. to conduct a welfare check. When they arrived, there was no response from inside the home. While checking the property, deputies saw a person slumped over in a chair through a window, prompting immediate concern.

Due to the urgent nature of the situation, deputies made a forced entry into the residence. Inside, they discovered two individuals deceased. Authorities later identified them as Connie S. Edens, born October 12, 1947, and Donald A. Edens, born December 7, 1955.

Preliminary findings indicate that both victims suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators reported that Connie Edens had a single gunshot wound to the back, while Donald Edens suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Officials have not yet released details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Portage County Sheriff Bruce D. Zuchowski expressed sympathy for the victims and their loved ones.
