According to Connecticut State Police Troop K, the crash happened around 5:50 p.m. on Route 32 in front of Apollo Pizza, a busy stretch of road in Windham. Emergency responders, including troopers and Windham EMS, rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV. When they arrived, they found a devastating crash scene with multiple vehicles involved and the motorcyclist critically injured.
Investigators said a Ford Explorer driven by 83-year-old Pedro Johnson of North Windham was traveling northbound on Route 32 when it began making a left turn into a commercial driveway. At that moment, it crossed into the path of oncoming traffic. Police said the motorcycle, a Suzuki GSX-R750 operated by Devan Nolet, was traveling southbound and struck the front right side of the SUV in a violent impact.
