A young woman is dead and two others are injured after a violent early morning shooting outside a nightclub in Jackson, according to police. Authorities say the incident happened during a disturbance in a parking lot near The Hideaway nightclub and quickly escalated into gunfire involving several people. The shooting has left the community shaken as investigators continue to piece together the events that unfolded in the nightclub parking lot.

According to the Jackson Police Department, officers were called around 1:00 a.m. on May 17 to the 5100 block of I-55 North after reports of a fight and possible shooting near The Hideaway. When officers arrived, they found clear signs of a violent confrontation involving multiple individuals in the parking area. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as police secured the area and began gathering statements from people who were present at the time. The investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators said the situation began as a physical fight between several men before it escalated into gunfire. Police have not yet confirmed what started the argument, but they believe several people were involved in the confrontation that turned deadly. Authorities say they are still working to determine what triggered the fight and how many weapons were involved. No suspects have been named yet.

During the shooting, officers found a black Honda Accord with a woman inside who had been struck in the upper body. Emergency responders transported her to a hospital, but she later died from her injuries. She was identified as 19-year-old Alana Duck of Brandon, Mississippi. She was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital despite efforts by medical staff very sad.

The Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard confirmed the victim’s identity, while two other victims were also injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been released by officials, and their identities remain unknown at this time. Officials say they are working to notify the families of those injured and continue supporting the ongoing investigation.

Police say no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. Detectives are reviewing evidence, speaking with witnesses, and asking anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine what led to the deadly shooting outside the nightclub.
