According to the Midland Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:42 p.m. on May 13, 2026, to reports of a collision involving a motor vehicle and motorcycle near the intersection of Raymond Street and Cedar Springs Drive. When officers and emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found a non-street-legal 2023 Yamaha YZ250FX dirt bike lying in the intersection.
Investigators also located a heavily damaged 2006 Nissan Murano west of the crash site. Emergency personnel discovered Luke Quentin Palacios lying next to the motorcycle suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment, where medical staff fought to save his life. Despite lifesaving efforts, authorities confirmed that Palacios later died from his injuries at the hospital.
