A heartbreaking homicide investigation is underway after 17-year-old YK Jenae was found dead early Monday morning at a residence on Stagg Crescent in Mosakahiken Cree Nation. The tragic discovery has left the community grieving as authorities work to uncover what happened during the final hours of the teenager’s life.
According to Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers from Moose Lake RCMP, police were called to the residence at approximately 4:15 a.m. on May 12, 2026, after receiving reports of an injured person. When officers arrived at the scene, they located YK Jenae inside the home. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have stated that the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death are considered suspicious, and the case is now being treated as a homicide investigation.
