Social Studies Teacher, Jim Houston Killed in DUI Crash in Worth County; Suspect in Custody

The Worth County community is mourning the devastating loss of Jim “Jimbo” Houston, a beloved educator whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal crash on April 1, 2026. Houston, a dedicated social studies teacher at Worth County High School, was known for his passion for teaching and the deep connection he shared with his students.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. along Highway 300 near the intersection with GA-32.
