TIFFIN, Ohio — A quiet night turned into a heartbreaking tragedy after a single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of four young adults in Seneca County. The victims have been identified as Hermoiney Greenler, 19, of Bucyrus; Madison Yates, 21, of Tiffin; Jonathan Bowling, 22, of Tiffin; and Alexzandria Hickle, 22, of Tiffin.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, along State Route 18 near County Road 48, just west of Tiffin. Authorities said the pickup truck, driven by Greenler, was heading eastbound when it suddenly went out of control.
Investigators say the vehicle veered off the roadway, crashed violently into a tree, and then slid into a nearby pond, where it became partially submerged. The force of the impact caused severe damage, leaving little chance of survival for those inside the truck.
Greenler, along with passengers Madison Yates and Jonathan Bowling, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders worked quickly, but the damage from the crash was too great.
Alexzandria Hickle, the fourth passenger, was found in critical condition and rushed by ambulance to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she later died from her injuries. Authorities noted that Hickle was the only occupant wearing a seatbelt at the time, underscoring how unpredictable and severe such crashes can be.
The devastating loss has shaken both the Tiffin and Bucyrus communities. Friends, families, and loved ones are now left mourning four young lives taken too soon in a single, tragic moment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation to determine what caused the driver to lose control. Officials are urging drivers to remain alert, especially at night, and to always prioritize safety behind the wheel. As the community grieves, authorities have extended their deepest condolences to everyone affected by this painful loss.
