QUEENS, N.Y. — A fatal shooting at a popular bar and restaurant in Kew Gardens early Tuesday morning has left the community in shock. Authorities say the incident resulted in the death of 29-year-old Demitri McKay, raising concerns about safety in a neighborhood usually considered quiet.

The NYPD reported that officers responded to a 911 call about an assault at Hangar 11 Bar and Restaurant, located at 119-11 Metropolitan Avenue, at approximately 1:35 a.m. When officers arrived, they found McKay suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm.
