PHILADELPHIA — A tragic high-speed crash in Northeast Philadelphia has claimed the life of 32-year-old Ziyodillo Tursunpulatov. The deadly collision occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Friday along the 9200 block of Frankford Avenue, leaving a community in mourning and investigators searching for answers about what led to the devastating wreck.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded to the scene at approximately 12:53 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash. Authorities said a silver 2024 Kia Telluride was traveling southbound at what was described as a high rate of speed when the driver suddenly lost control of the SUV. Within moments, the vehicle veered off the roadway.
Police say the SUV first struck a fixed utility pole with tremendous force. The impact caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle. After hitting the pole, the Kia continued forward and collided with an unattended parked car nearby. The violent chain reaction left the SUV heavily damaged and the driver trapped inside the wreckage.
When responding officers arrived, they found Tursunpulatov unresponsive behind the wheel. Firefighters and emergency medical crews worked urgently at the scene to reach him. Despite their efforts, medics pronounced him dead at 1:09 a.m. Officials confirmed that no other individuals were injured in connection with the crash.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the driver to lose control.
