Salisbury Senior, Victoria Overcash Killed in Head-On Crash Near China Grove

SALISBURY, N.C. — A tragic crash Thursday morning has claimed the life of a 17-year-old student from Salisbury, North Carolina, leaving her family, classmates, and teachers heartbroken. Authorities confirmed that Victoria Overcash died in a head-on collision on Brown Road near China Grove, a rural area known for its quiet roads and close-knit community.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol identified the teen as Victoria Overcash, a senior at J.C. Carson High School. According to Master Trooper Whit Efird, preliminary findings indicate that Overcash was traveling south on Brown Road when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a garbage truck traveling north. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred near China Grove, North Carolina during the early morning hours, a time when many students and workers are heading to school and work. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to cross into the opposite lane.
