A quiet Sunday afternoon in Claiborne County turned tragic when a head-on collision claimed one life and left three others injured. Authorities say the crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on State Route 63 near Ausmus Lane, bringing traffic to a halt as emergency crews rushed to the scene.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on State Route 63 when it suddenly crossed into the eastbound lane. Investigators say the vehicle collided head-on with a Honda Accord traveling in the opposite direction. The impact was severe, causing both vehicles to suffer heavy damage.

After the collision, the Toyota Camry left the roadway and came to an uncontrolled stop on the grassy shoulder. The Honda Accord remained in the middle of the roadway, blocking traffic as first responders worked quickly to assist the victims. Debris from the crash was scattered across the highway, showing the force of the impact.

Troopers reported that there were two people inside each vehicle at the time of the crash. The passenger in the Toyota, identified as Stacey Vinsant, died from injuries sustained in the collision.
