Authorities in Akron are investigating a tragic hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 23-year-old Richard Williams late Wednesday night. The fatal incident has left family members and community residents mourning the sudden loss of the young man while police work to identify the driver responsible for the crash.

According to the Akron Police Department, officers and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 10:35 p.m. on March 4 to the area of Russell Avenue and Laurel Avenue after receiving reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
