Man Found Shot Dead Inside SUV as Deputies Detain Two Suspects in Clarendon County

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities in Clarendon County are investigating a deadly shooting after a man was found shot to death inside a vehicle Thursday in the Alcolu community. Deputies with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene following reports of gunfire in a residential area.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to the 1300 block of Pinecrest Acres on Thursday. When they arrived, they located a white Jeep Cherokee parked in the area. Inside the vehicle, deputies found a man in the front passenger seat who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Randy Wing. Authorities have not released his age or further personal details. Officials also have not said how long the victim had been inside the vehicle before deputies arrived or whether the shooting occurred inside or outside the SUV.

Investigators confirmed that two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. However, their identities and the charges they may face have not yet been released. The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still active, and detectives are continuing to gather evidence and interview individuals connected to the case.
