The tragic collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. on the 16000 block of Pepmeier Hill Road, roughly half a mile east of Santee Road.
According to officials, a Chevrolet Equinox driven by 70-year-old Phyllis D. Washington, of Academy, Virginia, was traveling eastbound when it veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
