According to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, the victim has been identified as Landis Garrett of Holly Hill, whose passing has left family, friends, and the local community in deep mourning.

Officials reported that the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Atomic Road and Silver Bluff Road and involved a 2009 Nissan Altima and a 2019 Chevrolet Duramax truck. Preliminary findings indicate that the Nissan was turning from Silver Bluff Road onto Atomic Road when it collided with the Chevrolet, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. Emergency personnel and law enforcement officers responded swiftly to the scene to provide aid and secure the area.

Garrett, who was a passenger in the Nissan, tragically died from injuries sustained in the collision. She was pronounced deceased at 8:10 p.m., the coroner’s office confirmed. Two others inside the Nissan, including the driver and another passenger, were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
