CHICAGO — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death inside his home late Friday night on Chicago’s South Side, according to city officials. Chicago police said the shooting occurred at approximately 10:21 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of East 72nd Street. Officers initially responded to a report of a person shot near 72nd Street and King Drive/Vernon Avenue. Upon arriving in the area, officers were directed to a first-floor apartment at the address, where they made the grim discovery inside the home.
Once inside the residence, officers found a 49-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was unresponsive, and the scene was immediately secured.
