SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Authorities have identified the young man who was killed in a weekend shooting in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Coroner confirmed the victim as Kaden Solano, 20, of Folsom. The shooting has left the community shaken as investigators continue searching for answers and a suspect.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the area of Larkspur Lane and Fulton Avenue around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, after reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Solano suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Despite lifesaving efforts by medical staff, Solano later died from his injuries. Investigators said he had been shot once in the chest, but details about what led up to the shooting remain unclear. Authorities have not released information about whether Solano knew the shooter or if there was an argument or confrontation before the gunfire.
As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been announced. Deputies said they are actively searching for a suspect and are continuing to gather evidence from the scene. Investigators remained in the area following the shooting, speaking with neighbors and reviewing potential evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
The sheriff’s office has not said whether the shooting appears to have been targeted or random. Officials emphasized that determining the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident is a top priority. Detectives are carefully reviewing all available information to piece together what happened in the moments before Solano was shot.
