The communities of Bedford and Leesville are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kasee Allman, 21, and Jesse Brock, 35, whose lives were tragically cut short in a flooding accident in Lawrence County. Their sudden deaths have left family members, friends, and neighbors devastated as they try to process the loss of two people remembered for their kindness and the connections they shared with those around them.
According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, the pair was reported missing on Sunday after family members were unable to contact them following Saturday evening. Investigators said Allman and Brock were last seen in Paoli and were believed to be traveling to Brock’s residence near Leesville.
Authorities used cellphone location data to track the pair’s last known position to the area near Earl Road and Lawrenceport Road around 10 p.m. on Saturday. Officials determined that this section of road was heavily flooded near the East Fork White River. With no additional location information available, investigators feared the two may have accidentally driven into dangerous floodwaters.
Over the following days, a large search effort was launched involving multiple agencies. Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department worked alongside the Indiana Department of Natural Resources conservation officers and the Indiana State Police. Search teams used boats, sonar equipment, drones, and helicopters to scan the flooded areas, where submerged roads and fast-moving water made the operation extremely challenging.
The search ended in tragedy on Tuesday morning when conservation officers located the truck Allman and Brock had been traveling in. The vehicle was submerged in approximately eight feet of water, and both individuals were found deceased inside. Authorities confirmed that family members were notified, and the case has now transitioned from a missing persons investigation to a death investigation.
This devastating incident highlights the serious dangers posed by flooded roadways. Officials continue to warn drivers to avoid water-covered roads, as currents can be stronger than they appear and roadways beneath the water may be severely damaged or invisible. As the investigation continues, the Lawrence County community is remembering the lives of Kasee Allman and Jesse Brock, honoring their memories and offering support to the families and loved ones left behind.
