Jaye’mya Sudduth Killed in Apartment Shooting on Maplewood Drive

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Cedar Falls Police have identified the woman who died from gunshot injuries during a February 5 incident at an apartment complex on Maplewood Drive. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Jaye’mya E’shay Sudduth, who lived at 1029 Maplewood Drive, Apartment #8. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to save her life.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the apartment around 7:28 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting a physical fight and a person who had been shot. When officers arrived, they found Sudduth suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical aid was immediately provided, but she succumbed to her injuries at the location.
