21-year-old Jayden Wright arrested for murder of Tervon Jackson in Milton

MILTON, Fla. — A quiet Milton neighborhood was shaken Monday afternoon after a deadly shooting near Lucille Johnson Park left one man dead and sparked an urgent police response. According to the Milton Police Department, officers were dispatched to Mary Street on November 24, 2025, at approximately 4:31 p.m. following multiple reports of gunfire. When authorities arrived, they discovered 31-year-old Milton resident Tervon Jackson suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite immediate efforts, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a tragic loss that has left the community stunned.

Witnesses in the area provided critical information that quickly shaped the early stages of the investigation. According to accounts, three males were seen fleeing on foot immediately after the gunfire erupted, with two of them partially masked. Officers quickly canvassed the area, gathering surveillance footage and photographs from nearby homes and businesses. This evidence enabled investigators to identify potential suspects and track their movements through the surrounding neighborhood.

A K-9 unit was deployed to assist with the search, ultimately following a trail from Mary Street into a swampy, wooded area near Pine Street. There, officers encountered three males who matched the descriptions provided by witnesses. The individuals had been attempting to hide in the water in an effort to evade detection. Additional pieces of clothing, as well as two semi-automatic handguns consistent with witness reports, were recovered nearby, further strengthening the case.

All three males were taken into custody and transported to the Milton Police Department for questioning. After interviews and review of gathered evidence, detectives arrested 21-year-old Jayden Jamarco Wright, charging him with Murder – Dangerous Depraved/Homicide (F.S.S. 782.04.2), a felony offense. Wright has since been booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending his initial court appearance. Meanwhile, Jackson’s autopsy was completed earlier today, and the recovered firearms have been sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for forensic analysis.

Authorities expressed gratitude to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, FDLE Crime Scene Technicians, and the Investigations Unit for their assistance in quickly tracking down the suspects and preserving critical evidence. The investigation remains active, and officials are urging anyone with additional details to contact Chief Jennifer Frank at the Milton Police Department, referencing case numbers MPD25OFF000711 and MPD25OFF000713.
