Three Men Found Shot to Death Near Concordia Dumpsite on St. Croix

ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands — Authorities are investigating a triple homicide after three men were found shot to death Sunday morning near the Concordia Dumpsite on St. Croix, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department. The shocking discovery has shaken the community and marks a violent beginning to the new year for the territory.

Police said the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call at approximately 8:08 a.m. reporting three men with apparent gunshot wounds in Estate Concordia, near the dumpsite. Officers quickly responded to the scene along with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau and Emergency Medical Services. When first responders arrived, they confirmed that all three men had died at the scene.

The victims were identified as Carlos Parrilla, 60, Fernando Santiago, 49, and Omar Castillo, 37. Authorities have not released additional details about the men, including their hometowns or whether they were related or known to one another. Family notifications are ongoing as investigators continue working to establish a clearer timeline of events.

Police said each of the men appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds to the head, indicating a violent and targeted attack. The area surrounding the dumpsite was secured for several hours as crime scene investigators searched for evidence, including shell casings, tire marks, and any other clues that could help identify those responsible. No suspects have been identified at this time.

According to officials, the three deaths represent the first three homicides of 2026 for St. Croix and the U.S. Virgin Islands, based on the Source Homicide List. The killings have raised concern among residents, as investigators work to determine whether the incident is connected to other criminal activity or if the victims were targeted for a specific reason.

“This is an unfortunate act,” said Criminal Investigation Bureau Commander Marisol Colon-Santiago. “We are asking for assistance in identifying these males and if anyone has information on this crime to come forward.” Police emphasized that the investigation remains active and that public cooperation is critical.
