CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. — The Virginia State Police have identified the victim in a devastating two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Richmond man Tuesday evening, November 4, 2025, along Interstate 95 near the 37-mile marker. The collision brought traffic to a standstill and left the community mourning another life lost on Virginia’s highways.
According to investigators, a 2010 Mazda MZ3, driven by 39-year-old Echenique Nicholas A. Ozimisa, was traveling northbound on I-95 when, for reasons still under investigation, it suddenly veered off the roadway, entered the grassy median, and crossed into the southbound lanes. The vehicle then collided head-on with a southbound tractor-trailer traveling in the right lane.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the crash scene and worked tirelessly to assist those involved. Sadly, Ozimisa was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Authorities confirmed that he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
