65-Year-Old Orrville Woman, Brenda Leshore Killed in Early Morning Crash in Dallas County

A tragic single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning claimed the life of a Dallas County woman, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). The deadly wreck happened just after sunrise, leaving authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

ALEA officials said the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Alabama Highway 5 near mile marker 45, approximately eight miles north of Safford. The roadway, which is commonly traveled by local residents, became the scene of emergency activity as troopers and first responders arrived to assess the situation.

Investigators identified the victim as 65-year-old Brenda D. Leshore of Orrville. Authorities said Leshore was driving alone when her vehicle left the roadway for reasons that have not yet been determined. After leaving the road, the car struck several trees before overturning, causing severe damage.

ALEA reported that Leshore was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. As a result, she was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and there were no additional injuries reported.

The fatal crash serves as another somber reminder of the dangers of traveling without proper restraints. Law enforcement officials often stress that seat belts significantly reduce the risk of serious injury or death in accidents, especially in single-vehicle crashes involving rollovers or high-impact collisions with fixed objects.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the crash to determine what caused Leshore’s vehicle to leave the roadway. At this time, authorities have not released information regarding speed, road conditions, or possible contributing factors. As the investigation continues, family members and friends are left mourning the loss of a loved one, while officials urge drivers to remain cautious and always buckle up when traveling Alabama’s roadways.
