ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arlington community is in deep mourning after a deadly shooting on westbound I-20 claimed the life of Bre’Asia Simone, a beloved woman from Cedar Hill, on Wednesday evening. The tragic incident, which also left an adult male injured, occurred near Bowman Springs Road around 7:40 p.m., shaking residents and prompting renewed concerns about roadway gun violence.
According to the Arlington Police Department, officers were dispatched to a gas station in the 4900 block of Little Road after receiving a 911 call from a man who reported he had been shot. When police arrived, they found the adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside his vehicle. Bre’Asia Simone was also found unresponsive in the passenger seat. Despite immediate medical assistance and being rushed to a nearby hospital, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Preliminary reports suggest that Bre’Asia may have been pregnant when the shooting occurred, adding an even deeper layer of heartbreak to an already devastating event. Two young children were also inside the vehicle at the time of the attack. They were transported to Medical City Arlington as a precaution but were not physically harmed.
