Billy Foster Dies After Being Stabbed Multiple Times in Clay County Parking Lot Altercation

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A violent altercation late Monday night ended in tragedy after a 38-year-old Jacksonville man died from multiple stab wounds, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. The incident began at an apartment complex and ended across the street at a Winn-Dixie, where the victim desperately sought help before succumbing to his injuries.

Deputies were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. on February 2, 2026, to the Winn-Dixie located at 1339 Blanding Boulevard after receiving a report of an adult male inside a vehicle suffering from apparent stab wounds. The caller reported the man was badly injured and in need of immediate medical assistance.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the Cypress Pointe Apartment Complex, located at 25 Knight Boxx Road, directly across the street from the grocery store. During that incident, investigators said the victim was stabbed multiple times. Despite his injuries, he managed to drive himself to the Winn-Dixie parking lot in what appeared to be an attempt to get help.

Deputies and Clay County Fire Rescue arrived on scene and immediately began providing emergency medical treatment. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, officials confirmed. The individual who called 911 was identified as a passerby who discovered the injured man and is not believed to be involved in the incident.

The victim was identified as Billy Clark Foster, 38, of Jacksonville, Florida. Authorities have not released details about what led to the altercation, how many people were involved, or whether the victim knew his attacker. No arrests have been announced at this time.
