LOWER PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A devastating head-on crash early Tuesday morning claimed the lives of two people and left another injured in Dauphin County, sending shockwaves through the Lower Paxton Township community. The tragic collision occurred in the early hours when traffic was light, but the consequences were catastrophic.

According to the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Colonial Road at approximately 1:00 a.m. on December 30 following reports of a serious two-vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they discovered that the collision involved two vehicles that had struck each other head-on, with one vehicle engulfed in flames.

Police said first responders acted quickly under dangerous conditions. Officers and emergency crews worked to extract a male driver from the burning vehicle, while a female driver and a male passenger were removed from the second vehicle. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, authorities confirmed that both drivers were pronounced dead due to the severity of their injuries.

The deceased were identified as Anil Gajmer, 30, the male driver, and Mahogheni Mills, 25, the female driver. Their sudden deaths have left families, friends, and loved ones grieving two young lives lost far too soon. The male passenger from the second vehicle was transported to a hospital for further treatment. As of the latest update, his condition has not been released.

Colonial Road remained closed for several hours as investigators worked through the night and into the early morning. Police carefully documented the scene, examined the damaged vehicles, and gathered evidence to determine what led to the crash. The roadway was eventually reopened at approximately 5:00 a.m. Tuesday after the investigation at the scene was completed.

The crash remains under active investigation, and police have not yet released details about possible contributing factors such as speed, impairment, or roadway conditions. As the community mourns, authorities are reminding drivers of the dangers of nighttime travel and the importance of caution, even on familiar roads. While investigators work to uncover answers, Lower Paxton Township is left honoring the memories of Anil Gajmer and Mahogheni Mills, whose lives ended in a tragic and sudden way.
