23-Year-Old Motorcyclist Ezra Villafranco killed in fatal Harlingen Crash

The community of San Benito is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 23-year-old Ezra Andrea Duke Villafranco, who tragically died following a fatal two-vehicle crash on the evening of May 15, 2026. The sudden accident at a busy intersection in Harlingen has left family members, friends, and loved ones devastated as they struggle to come to terms with an unexpected and painful loss.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of San Jose Ranch Road and FM 509. Investigators reported that Villafranco was riding a Kawasaki ER-6 motorcycle traveling on FM 509 when he was allegedly passing vehicles in a no-passing zone while approaching the intersection.

At the same time, authorities said a Toyota Tacoma pulling a trailer was traveling on San Jose Ranch Road and attempted to make a left turn onto FM 509. It was at this moment that the collision occurred, resulting in a violent impact between the motorcycle and the turning vehicle.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and provided aid to Villafranco, who was found in critical condition. He was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center for urgent treatment. Despite medical efforts to save his life, he was later pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
