AMARILLO, Texas — A tragic shooting in the early hours of Saturday has left the Amarillo community in shock after 40-year-old Moneke Denice Glass lost her life. The incident, which took place on March 27, 2026, has prompted a full homicide investigation as authorities work to uncover what led to the deadly violence.

According to the Amarillo Police Department (APD), officers were called to the 800 block of South Maryland Street at approximately 2:55 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.
