NATCHITOCHES, Louisiana — A quiet early morning turned tragic after a 22-year-old man was shot and killed on Friday, March 27, 2026. The victim, Douglas Roberson of Coushatta, lost his life in a shocking incident that has left the community searching for answers and raising concerns about safety.

According to the Natchitoches Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:54 a.m. to the 3800 block of University Parkway following reports of a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found Roberson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police officers immediately began providing medical aid while waiting for additional emergency responders. Despite their efforts to save him, Roberson’s injuries were too severe. The Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office later confirmed that he was pronounced dead at the scene.
