The heartbreaking tragedy has left families, fellow firefighters, and residents mourning the loss of two men who dedicated their lives to serving others.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 3:17 a.m. in McClain County. Authorities say a tanker truck from the Goldsby Fire Department was responding to a reported structure fire when it left the roadway along Redbud and struck a tree. Both Pendleton and Jenkins suffered severe injuries and tragically died as a result of the crash.

Pendleton, a 12-year veteran of the department, and Jenkins, who served for an incredible 35 years, were well-known and respected within the community. Their decades of service reflect a lifetime of bravery, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting the people of Goldsby. They were more than firefighters—they were neighbors, mentors, and trusted friends to many.

Fellow firefighters say the two men answered every call without hesitation, always putting the safety of others before their own. Their bond extended beyond the firehouse, as they stood side by side through countless emergencies, forming strong connections with their team and the community they served. Their loss leaves a deep and painful void that will not easily be filled.

In the wake of the tragedy, the Town of Goldsby has expressed deep sorrow and is standing united in support of the victims’ families and the entire fire department. Community members have come together in grief, offering prayers and comfort as they cope with the devastating loss of two local heroes.

An escort procession to honor Firefighter Pendleton and Firefighter Jenkins is scheduled to take place after 1:00 p.m., traveling through Goldsby to Purcell along SH-74. Residents are encouraged to line the route in tribute, paying their respects and celebrating the lives and sacrifices of two brave men who gave everything in service to their community.
