Young Couple Found Dead in Flooded Truck After Search in Lawrence County

The community of Lawrence County is mourning the tragic loss of two residents whose bodies were discovered Tuesday after an extensive search in flood-affected areas. Authorities say the victims, Kasee Allman, 21, of Bedford, and Jesse Brock, 35, of Leesville, had been missing for several days before search teams located their vehicle.

According to officials, the pair was reported missing by family members on March 8 after they had not been heard from since the evening of March 7. Investigators believe the two were traveling toward Brock’s home near Leesville when contact was lost, prompting loved ones to alert authorities and begin searching for clues about their whereabouts.

Using cellphone location data, officers and family members were able to trace the last known location of the couple to the area near Earl Road and Lawrenceport Road around 10 p.m. on March 7. At the time, much of the county was experiencing severe flooding, with numerous roads covered by high water following heavy rainfall. These conditions raised fears that the pair may have accidentally driven into dangerous floodwaters.

A large search effort soon followed. Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, and troopers from the Indiana State Police joined family members in searching the area. Crews used boats, sonar equipment, drones, and helicopters to scan flooded roadways and nearby waterways for signs of the missing vehicle.

On Tuesday morning, conservation officers located the truck Allman and Brock had been traveling in. Tragically, both individuals were found deceased inside the vehicle. Greg Day confirmed the discovery and said the scene has now been turned over to conservation officers and detectives who are conducting a full investigation into the deaths.

Officials say the heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the serious dangers associated with flooded roads. Fast-moving water and hidden hazards can quickly overwhelm vehicles, making escape nearly impossible. Authorities continue to urge drivers to avoid flooded roadways whenever possible and to follow the safety message often repeated during storms: turn around, don’t drown. Meanwhile, family, friends, and the community continue to grieve the sudden and tragic loss of two lives.
