Birthday Celebration Turns Deadly: One Killed, Two Injured in Decatur Shooting

A birthday celebration in Decatur, Georgia, turned into a heartbreaking tragedy overnight after gunfire erupted outside a rental home, leaving one person dead and two others injured. The deadly incident has shaken the local community as authorities continue searching for answers and the person responsible for the shooting.

According to the DeKalb County Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire late at night outside a home on Bluebird Lane, a street located off Columbia Drive in Decatur. When police arrived at the scene, they found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders quickly provided aid and transported the victims for medical treatment.

Authorities later confirmed that one of the victims, identified as Antonio Hardrick, 20, died as a result of his injuries. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified Hardrick as the victim who lost his life in the shooting. The tragic loss has left family members and friends grieving the sudden death of a young man whose life was cut short.

Police said the other two victims survived the shooting but suffered what officials described as moderate injuries. Their names have not yet been publicly released, and authorities have not shared further details about their conditions.

According to a witness at the scene, about 15 people were gathered at the rental home for what was believed to be a birthday celebration when the violence broke out. The witness told investigators that a vehicle pulled up outside the home, and someone inside began firing shots toward the group before quickly leaving the area.
