Frankie Simpson Killed After Vehicle Crosses Centerline in Head-On Collision in Kentucky

A deadly head-on crash early Friday morning has left one man dead and another driver injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Kentucky State Police. The collision occurred along Lebanon Road and has raised concerns about safety on rural highways where visibility and road conditions can quickly become dangerous.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were dispatched around 7:15 a.m. to the intersection of Lebanon Road and Alum Springs Road after receiving reports of a serious two-vehicle crash. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and found both vehicles heavily damaged from the impact.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a westbound Cadillac SRX crossed over the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound Toyota Highlander. The force of the crash caused significant damage to both vehicles and left the drivers injured. First responders worked quickly to provide medical assistance and transport those involved to the hospital.

Authorities identified the driver of the Cadillac as 41-year-old Frankie Simpson. He was rushed to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment following the crash. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Simpson later died from the injuries he sustained in the collision. The Boyle County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his death.

The driver of the Toyota Highlander was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials said that person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover. Their identity has not been publicly released as investigators continue to review the details of the crash.

Kentucky State Police say the incident remains under investigation. A crash reconstruction team is examining evidence from the scene to determine what may have caused the Cadillac to cross the centerline. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the events leading up to it to contact authorities. Officials also remind drivers to remain cautious and attentive, especially when traveling on rural roads where unexpected dangers can arise.
