Authorities in Winter Haven are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 23-year-old Bryson Love on Wednesday evening. The tragic incident occurred near 3rd Street SW and Avenue G SW, leaving the community mourning while deputies continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit, the crash took place around 7:09 p.m. on March 4, 2026. Investigators said a 2025 Nissan Rogue, traveling northbound on 3rd Street SW, attempted to change lanes in front of a 2020 Ford pickup truck. This maneuver caused the rear of the Nissan to strike the front bumper of the truck.
After the initial contact, authorities reported that the Nissan entered the median and crossed into the southbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a motorcycle ridden by Bryson Love. The force of the collision ejected Love from the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
The crash did not end there. The Nissan continued northbound and later made low-speed contact with a 2022 BMW near Avenue D SW. Officials confirmed that the driver of the BMW was not injured in the incident. The truck driver involved in the earlier contact was also unharmed.
The driver of the Nissan remained on the scene and was evaluated at a local hospital for elevated blood pressure and neck pain. Deputies confirmed that the driver was medically cleared and showed no signs of impairment during a DUI screening. Authorities reported that no arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information to come forward. Officials emphasized that community cooperation is critical to help investigators determine exactly how the events unfolded and to provide answers to the family and friends of Bryson Love, whose life was tragically cut short in the collision.
