Brother Charged for killing Russell Taylor at North Little Rock Apartment Complex

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A 47-year-old man was found shot to death early Tuesday morning inside an apartment at the Foothills Apartments complex, and police have arrested his brother in connection with the killing. The shocking case has left neighbors stunned and a family torn apart by violence.

According to the North Little Rock Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:28 a.m. on March 3, 2026, to 2401 Lakeview Road after reports of gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, they located Russell Taylor, 47, of North Little Rock, inside an apartment suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 41-year-old Courtney Taylor, who is also from North Little Rock. Authorities confirmed that the suspect and the victim are brothers. Police said Courtney Taylor was taken into custody at the scene without incident as detectives began securing evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.

After further investigation and questioning, Courtney Taylor was charged with one count of Capital Murder. In addition to the homicide charge, he faces several other serious offenses. Authorities said he has been charged with Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons and multiple drug-related charges, including Possession of Schedule II substances — cocaine, oxycodone, and hydrocodone — with the purpose to deliver, as well as Possession of Schedule VI with the purpose to deliver.

Courtney Taylor was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond. Police have not released details about what led to the deadly shooting or what may have sparked the violence between the two brothers. The motive remains under investigation.
