21-Year-Old Fatally Shot, Two Others Injured at Pine Bluff Convenience Store

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — A Friday night shooting at a local convenience store has left one man dead and two others injured, prompting an active homicide investigation in Pine Bluff. The violence unfolded in a busy area of the city, leaving customers and nearby residents shaken.

According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 to reports of gunfire at 2215 S. Blake Street, the location of Two Brothers One Stop. When officers arrived, they discovered 21-year-old Markeise Gipson lying unresponsive in the parking lot near the building. He had suffered apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said two additional males were also struck by gunfire during the incident. Emergency medical personnel transported both victims to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police later confirmed that the two surviving victims were in stable condition and that their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators reported that the suspects were seen leaving the area in a gray wide-body Dodge Charger with a black roof, spoiler, and hood scoop. No detailed suspect descriptions have been released at this time. Detectives are working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the victims were specifically targeted or caught in a broader altercation.

The motive behind the gunfire remains unknown as authorities continue to piece together the sequence of events. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and are reviewing any available surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Officials emphasized that the case is still in its early stages and that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
