SAN ANTONIO — A 14-year-old boy was tragically shot and killed Sunday evening while walking with a friend in a Northeast Side neighborhood, authorities confirmed. The loss of Isaias Trevino has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken as police continue searching for the person responsible.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the teenager following the deadly shooting. Officers were called just before 8 p.m. to the area of Georges Farm near North Foster Road after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found Trevino suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Investigators say Trevino and a friend had been riding electric scooters in the neighborhood earlier that evening. After getting off the scooters, the two were walking down the street when they encountered a stranger. At some point, an argument broke out between them. During the confrontation, police say the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a single shot, striking Trevino before running away from the scene.
Emergency responders quickly transported the teen to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite efforts by medical staff, Trevino died a short time later from his injuries. Authorities have not said what sparked the dispute or whether the suspect and victim knew each other before the incident.
The San Antonio Police Department said officers spent hours canvassing the neighborhood, knocking on doors and speaking with residents in hopes of gathering information. Detectives are also reviewing any available surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses that could help identify the shooter. As of now, no suspect description has been released.
The fatal shooting has shaken the Northeast Side community, where residents say violence involving young people is especially painful. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the suspect to come forward. Investigators stress that even small details could be crucial in bringing justice for Isaias Trevino and his grieving loved ones.
