Three Young Lives Lost in Tragic Highway 42 Crash in Lamar County

A wave of grief has swept across Lamar County after a devastating two-vehicle crash claimed the lives of three young people Friday night. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a Ford F-150 driven by Aaron Page was traveling westbound and collided head-on with a 2021 Toyota Camry driven by Courtney Whitehead, who was traveling eastbound. Inside the Camry were two passengers: Kaylee Whitehead and a 17-year-old from Carson. Emergency responders arrived quickly but pronounced Aaron, Courtney, and Kaylee dead at the scene. The 17-year-old survivor was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not yet released details about what may have caused the vehicles to collide.
