SUGARCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A local student has tragically died in a crash over the weekend. The Greene County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 17-year-old Jack Teemer III on Monday morning. The devastating incident has left family, friends, and the community mourning the loss of a young life full of promise.
According to initial reports, the crash occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday on Waynesville Road near Centerville Road in Sugarcreek Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol stated that the 2002 Saab 9-3 Teemer was driving southbound left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The force of the collision caused Teemer to be ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that Teemer had died. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and officials continue to review details to determine the factors that may have contributed to the tragedy.
Teemer was a student at Oakwood City Schools District. A spokesperson for Oakwood Police Dispatch confirmed they were aware of his passing but had no additional information to release. Teemer was also enrolled in the automotive program at Kettering Fairmont Career Tech Center. The program is part of a CTE compact between Kettering, Oakwood, and Centerville schools, allowing students to take career tech courses on either the Kettering Fairmont or Centerville campuses.
“Kettering, Oakwood, and Centerville are members of a CTE compact, and students from the three districts have the opportunity to take career tech courses on either the Kettering Fairmont campus or the Centerville campus. This student was a member of our auto program,” the spokesperson said in a statement. Friends and classmates remember Teemer for his dedication to learning and his passion for the automotive program.
