The heartbreaking incident has shaken residents and left family, friends, and neighbors struggling to come to terms with a life lost far too soon.

St. Cloud Police responded to a reported medical emergency at around 8:20 p.m. at an apartment in the 3100 block of 40th Avenue South. When officers arrived, they discovered Hallie inside the apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed the apartment was locked at the time officers entered, a detail that has become central to the ongoing investigation.

Also found inside the apartment was Hallie’s husband, 23-year-old Dylan Michael Tobler. Police said he was suffering from life-threatening injuries that investigators believe were self-inflicted. Emergency responders transported him to St. Cloud Hospital, where he remains under medical care. Authorities say he is expected to be taken into custody and booked into Stearns County Jail on suspicion of charges related to the homicide once he is medically cleared.

Police confirmed that the couple was married and lived together in the apartment. Officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public and believe the incident was isolated. While many details remain unclear, investigators are working carefully to reconstruct the events that led up to the deadly stabbing.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue collecting evidence, reviewing the scene, and speaking with anyone who may have relevant information. Law enforcement has not released further details about a possible motive or timeline but says updates will be provided as the case progresses.
